one tired photographer.  In October I spent several days in Milwaukee at the Janie and Jack store doing promotional portrait mini-sessions.  Lots of great kids, had a lot of fun.

Here are some favorites, Part 1.

More coming soon!  Thanks to all the wonderful families who made portrait day a success!!

This little guy was perfectly happy and content to stay awake for all but the last 5 minutes of his session. We fed him, rocked him, fed him again, rocked him some more…wide awake!  But such a sweet wide away little guy he was.  Never heard a peep out of him.

Itty bitty baby parts.

With his beautiful big brother.  Those eyes!!!

And finally asleep, for just a few minutes.

Thank you J family for introducing me to your sweet, sweet baby boy!  I wish you all the best!

A year ago I took his 2 year portraits and it was so wonderful to see him and his mama again for 3 year portraits.  This little man has THE most gorgeous blue eyes I’ve ever had the pleasure to photograph.  Are these not the most amazing eyes??

And what a difference a year can make.  At two, B was so very shy.  I think we played for a good half hour to warm him up before the camera even came out of my bag.   This year, he was ready to go from the moment he arrived!!  And traces of the toddler are almost gone, such a little boy now.

I just had to include this outtake.  I get this look ALL the time from my own kids.  I thought it was just them being difficult, but I guess I’m not really as funny as I think I am.

H it was so nice too see you again,  C a pleasure to meet you and thank you both for sharing your little guy with me for awhile.

What was supposed to be an outdoor session at a very cool old barn, turned into a field trip to The Domes.   With temps hovering around 32 degrees (in October!!!) session was moved indoors.

The eldest, mellow and a little shy.  Try as I might, no big smiles from him.  Mom assured me, that’s just his way.  Well I like his way just fine!  Red hair, freckles and those blue eyes…heart breaker in the making.

The middle, I tend to see middle children as calm, the peacemaker.  This guy was all energy and quite a jokester.  And a smile to prove it!!

And the baby.  Very shy and every bit as stubborn with smiles as his big brother.  Those dimples cannot hide!!

Thank you S family for a fun filled morning!!

One of the things that I love most about being a photographer is sharing my ability with those I love, my friends and family.  My step-brother and family asked for a beach session during a recent visit to Milwaukee.  I’d never shot one before, but was all for it.  LOVED it!  So beautiful and serene.

My little man C!  Love photographing him, capturing his spunk and energy.  And he has the BEST HAIR EVER!!

His little sister was totally hamming it up for the camera too!

I love shots of feet, LOVE them!  I try to incorporate a family feet shot into every session. Notice how everyone’s feet are crossed the same way?  That’s not posed, it’s just family!!

Is this not just the sweetest thing?  I love C peeking over his mama’s head!!

Beautiful family.

Thank you Tom and Jenn for sharing your family with me!  I had so much fun at the beach.  Every image I edited brought a smile to my face!

J and I grew up together, we lived 2 houses apart many, many years ago.  I believe we were 3 and 4 when we became friends, and stayed friends though elementary school, middle school and high school.  We lost track of each other during college, and it was through Facebook that we reconnected.

A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of meeting her two little girls and doing a session with them.

E is just about the most energetic 5 year I’ve ever met!  She does not like to stand still, not even for a moment.

I thought my girls had the pout thing down, but I think she gives them a run for her money!!

I made the most grevious mistake calling her eyes brown, they are in fact hazel!!  And beautiful at that.  I can only hope she forgives me.

C is a natural in front of the camera!!

Just trying to keep up with her big sister.

As we were leaving the park, she took my hand and asked if we could be friends. {heart melts} Yes C, I would like that very, very much!

So here’s to friends, both new and old!  J, it was such a pleasure catching up with you and meeting your girls.  Until next time…
