Friends from afar | Minneapolis Family Photographer

8 years ago this month Emily and I “met” on a parenting message board for mothers to be.  We’ve maintained that friendship through the birth of our firstborns, career changes, more kids (3 between us), new homes and more.  Emily and her family drove from the east cost this summer for a family wedding.  They stopped in the Twin Cities for a little fun before the drive home and we were able to sneak in a session.

Daniel, Daniel, Daniel.  He is a total hoot and definitely kept me on my toes.  He’s 3 and his mom is a photographer…extra challenging.

But totally adorable!

Noah!  He and my Caroline are the reason Emily and I met.  It’s been so fun to watch him grow.

Happy Family!

Notice Daniel’s fingers.  I told him that if I took one more step back I would fall in the lake right behind me.  His response, “take TWO!”

Even exiting the park, goofball is in full force.

Sweet Boys | Minneapolis Children’s Photographer

More twins!!  This time wonderfully sweet 6 (almost 7) month boys.  I love photographing multiples.  It’s so much fun to see how looks and personalities are similar…or not.  These two little guys were different as night and day in the looks department, but both were mellow and happy during their session.

I love how L loves her boys!

Little N, super snuggler, perfect little pouty mouth and the most amazing head of hair on a 6 month old.

And V, best…cheeks…ever!!  Serious Gerber baby potential!!

And one last one that just makes me smile!  N was so proud of himself, lots of laughs!!

Waiting | Minneapolis Maternity & Newborn Photographer

Yesterday I met up with B and N who are awaiting the arrival of two precious babies!  Believe it or not this gorgeous mama-to-be is pregnant with twins!  The last few weeks have been a bit stressful for this wonderful couple, N was placed on bed rest for pre-term labor.  But she’s doing well, babies are staying put and her spirits are great!!

And back to bed.

B and N is was wonderful to meet both of you.  I cannot wait for the arrival of your special babies…but not for another two months or so.  Stay put babies!!!

Sweet baby girl…

Just over a month old and so very sweet!!  It was so nice to photograph a newborn that’s had a little time to fill out.

Family love…

Met up with this lovely family at a newly discovered gem of a park in what might have been the only nice Saturday in all of October!!

Excellent way to coordinate clothing but not match!!

I love a family that likes to have fun!!

I hope mom and dad are prepared for age 16!  This beautiful at 7, wow!!

 

And last but not least, the twins!  Someday I hope to capture such a moment between my two…that doesn’t end in headbutts, tears or other such drama.

Family

One of the things that I love most about being a photographer is sharing my ability with those I love, my friends and family.  My step-brother and family asked for a beach session during a recent visit to Milwaukee.  I’d never shot one before, but was all for it.  LOVED it!  So beautiful and serene.

My little man C!  Love photographing him, capturing his spunk and energy.  And he has the BEST HAIR EVER!!

His little sister was totally hamming it up for the camera too!

I love shots of feet, LOVE them!  I try to incorporate a family feet shot into every session. Notice how everyone’s feet are crossed the same way?  That’s not posed, it’s just family!!

Is this not just the sweetest thing?  I love C peeking over his mama’s head!!

Beautiful family.

Thank you Tom and Jenn for sharing your family with me!  I had so much fun at the beach.  Every image I edited brought a smile to my face!

Newborn Baby R

Ah, what a sweet, sweet little boy he is!   At two weeks he was a tad bit older than my typical newborn, but such a great little boy.

Full of energy, almost 3, listens to the BEST music and rides a wickedly cool motorcycle…

He is going to be a fantastic big brother.
